		JACKSON COUNTY COURTHOUSE Court was first held in the log house of Joel Sayre. The first courthouse was completed in 1832 for 3,700. The court outgrew its one-story building and a contract was let for a second courthouse in 1858. It cost $7,000. The third courthouse was erected in 1920 for $125,000. In 1961, the county remodeled and expanded the stone building at a cost of $350,000.
