Doddridge County Courthouse

DODDRIDGE COUNTY COURTHOUSE

Built of red brick, the 2 ½ story courthouse is a fine example of early 20th century civic architecture. The structure was built in 1899 on land donated by prominent landowner Nathan Davis and was designed by architect J. Charles Fulton.

Constructed in the late Victorian Romanesque style, the courthouse displays steeply pitched gables and is graced by ornamental brickwork. A clock tower stands to one side of the principal entrance. It is adorned with stained glass windows and is listed on the National Historical Register.
