General Exterior

The Prosecuting Attorney’s office building is a two story building.  The foundation is concrete and there is no evidence of settlement.  The building is 7,290 square feet.

 

 

 

Exterior Walls

The exterior walls are constructed of stone.  There is an exterior Crack in the wall in the back of the building, (P95). 

 

Clean the exterior walls and repair the cracks in the walls.

Roof

The building has an asphalt shingle and a corrugated metal roof.  Both are in good condition, (P79).

 

 

 

Windows and Doors

The windows are wood and aluminum.  They are single pane and appear to be in good condition, (P96). 

 

The doors are aluminum and steel with glass.  There are locks and dead bolts on the doors and panic hardware on exit doors, (P84, P92, P93).

 

 

 

Fire Safety

The building has a sprinkler system, emergency lighting and exit lights.  There is a fire alarm system.  The stairways were enclosed by fire rated walls and doors, (P80).

 

 

 

Structure

 

The building structure appears to be in good condition.

 

 

 

Security

The building does not have a security system or duress alarms for the offices.

Install a security system and duress alarms.

Electrical

The electrical service for the prosecuting attorney’s building enters the building from overhead.  The building’s electrical service appears to be in good condition.  The wiring and panels are labeled and in conduit.  The lighting is fluorescent and appears to be adequate.

 

 

 

 

Mechanical

The condensing unit outside of the building is old and in poor condition.

Install central HVAC system to provide the building with heating and air conditioning.

There is a handicap parking space, but there is no sign stating the fine for parking violations, (P85).  There is no proper signage throughout the building.  The doors have knobs instead of lever handles.  The restroom does not meet ADA requirements, (P81, P82).
