General Exterior |
The jail was built in 1894 along with the courthouse, (P5). It is a two-story brick building with a daylight basement, about 36000 SF. It houses the jail and sheriff office. Because of security reasons we did not enter the jail. |
The over all condition of the jail is poor the walls show signs of major deterioration. |

Space requirements |
When the jail is no longer needed to house prisoners, the building should be torn down and new holding cells should be built into the proposed annex. |
We recommend demolishing the jail building. |
