General Exterior

The tax office is a two story building with a basement, (P1, P2, P3, P4).  It has a block of foundation with no evidence of settlement.  There is a water leakage problem, (P5).

 

The basement should be waterproofed to prevent water infiltration.

The brick walls are in good condition with no water damage.

 

 

 

Roof

The flat roof has a rubber membrane and appears to be in good condition, (P6)

 

 

 

Windows and Doors

The windows are single pane wood windows.  They are in good condition.  The wooden doors appear to be in good condition as well.

 

 

 

Fire Safety

There are no fire alarms, sprinklers, exit lights, or emergency lighting.  The stairs not enclosed and are blocked, (P7).  The material stored around and beneath the stairwells should be removed for fire safety.  There is no panic hardware on the doors and they do not swing outward.  There are not two means of egress from each floor.

 

Install:

Fire alarm system.

New steel doors with panic hardware.

Exit and emergency lights.

Second interior stairway during renovation.
