Walls |
The
foundation of the jail is concrete.
The exterior walls are brick.
The jail did not have any foundation problems. Overall, the jails exterior is in good
condition. |

Roof |
The
roof on the jail is low sloped (relatively flat) with a rubber membrane that
was replaced in 1992 (P6). The roof is in good condition with no
reported problems. |

|
Windows
and Doors |
There
is one set of windows in the jail that are double pane, aluminum frame, and
are fixed in place, (P9). The windows are in good condition. The
main door for the jail is aluminum frame with double pane glass, (P7). This door is in good condition. |

|
Fire
Safety |
The
jail has a Simplex Fire alarm control panel, (P18)
and a Simplex annunciator panel, (P19). The system was in good condition and
operating normally. The fire alarm
system only lacked strobe lights throughout the building. The building also lacked a sprinkler system
for proper fire suppression. All
exit lighting and emergency lighting appeared to be in the proper place and
in working order. |

|
There
were no problems to report. |

Security |
The
Jail had closed circuit television installed throughout the building and police
officers at the entrance, but there were no other forms of security. |

Electrical |
The
main electrical service for the jail came into the electrical room. This room had storage in it, which could be
a fire hazard. These items need
removed. The electrical room had a
Square D service box located on the wall that is 3 phase / 4 wire, 480 V, 400
A main, which is in good condition (P12). All the electrical equipment in the jail
was in good condition. The
interior lighting of the building was adequate. All areas were lit well. No reports of problems with the electrical
system were stated. |

Mechanical |
The
Carrier furnace cooling air handling unit located on the roof supplies the
jail (P20). This unit is operating well and in good
condition. |
