The health department annex was constructed in 1941. P53 It is a two-story building with a brick exterior. There is parking for the building on the left side. There is very steep slope behind the building. |

Exterior Walls |
There are no cracks noted in the masonry. Most of the brick is stained black. The brick is chipped on one corner of the building. The mortar joints appear to be in place. P14 |

Fire Safety |

Structure
|
The foundation for the rear of the building does not appear to be very deep. The grade behind the building is sloped at about 1 to 1 and extends about fifty yards downhill. Steps and walks at the rear of the building are settling and the concrete is cracking. P17, P18 There are some minor cracks above a door on the second floor inside the sanitary engineering office. Some minor settlement or movement is occurring behind the building. We recommend consulting a geotechnical/structural engineer to investigate the stability of the slope and the building. |

Security |
Other than door locks, there is no form of security at the health department. |
No security improvements are needed. |

Electrical |
The only electrical panel noticed on the interior of the health department is on the first floor. This is a disconnect that has been added to the original panel. The wiring appears to be original to the 1940’s construction. P3 |

Work Safety |
A note was posted on the 2nd floor regarding a leak in the roof. P19 This would make the floor slippery during a rain. There are a lot of water stained ceiling tiles on the 2nd floor. P20 |
Replacing the roof will eliminate the slip hazard. Water damaged ceiling tiles are sometimes unstable and could fall. We recommend replacing the damaged ceiling tiles with new ones. |
