General Exterior |
The jail was closed in 2000 due to the opening of the regional jail. The jail is an old house with brick masonry combined with an old stone jail with painted block. The facility is located just beside the WPA annex (separate report). Part of the building was constructed in the 1850’s and the other parts were constructed in the 1930’s. The building is 5426 square feet. |
We recommend demolishing the existing building. The proposed new judicial annex would be built in the space that this jail occupies. Demolish the existing building and foundation. |
