General Exterior

The magistrate court is located on Bolton street, away from the main courthouse complex. It is a 2700 square foot 2-story brick building. P9

We recommend relocating the magistrate office to the new judicial annex proposed on the main courthouse report.

 

Exterior Walls

The brick is in good condition with good mortar depth. There were no visible cracks in the exterior.

 

 

Roof

The roof is pitched with asphalt shingles. The roof was not accessed during the inspection. The age of the roof is not known.

 

 

Windows and Doors

The building has aluminum, single pane windows that are in good shape. The main entrance door is aluminum with glass.

 

 

Fire Safety

There are fire extinguishers throughout the building. There is a fire alarm system present. There is no emergency lighting system in the building.

ADA Compliance

The building is not ADA compliant.

Structure

 

There were no noticeable structural problems during the inspection. There is a water problem under building and a drainage problem at the front right corner of building.

There were Cutler Hammer and Square D boxes throughout the building. The wiring is older but seems to be in good condition. P2 P6 P7 P8

 

 

Mechanical

The heat is generated by a hot water system with new booster pumps. There is mold and mildew around the system. P3 P4 P5 The building has air-conditioning.

 

 

Work Safety

The staff mentioned that there was a mold and mildew problem under the building.
